My name is Jhon Drago, founder (2023) and lead instructor of DFA Tactical LLC. I am a U.S. Marine Corps veteran, former Marine Corps Marksmanship Coach, current North Carolina law enforcement officer, North Carolina Certified Firearms Instructor, and North Carolina Certified Concealed Carry Handgun Instructor.
Throughout my career, I have served in the military and law enforcement, gaining real-world experience that extends far beyond the classroom. Those experiences have shaped my approach to training—one built on professionalism, accountability, and preparing responsible citizens with practical skills they can rely on.
I founded DFA Tactical LLC because I believe quality firearms training should be accessible, professional, and focused on developing safe, confident, and responsible gun owners. My goal isn't simply to help students earn a permit—it's to provide them with the knowledge, judgment, and mindset needed to carry a firearm responsibly.
Over the years, I have had the privilege of training hundreds of students, from first-time gun owners to experienced shooters looking to sharpen their skills. Every student is treated with respect, regardless of their experience level, and every class is taught in a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment.
